Women of Spirit and Faith
Animating Women's Spiritual Leadership in North America 2010-2011
There is a new project brewing here at Women's Spirit Council, born in conversations at the Parliament of the World's Religions. Women of Spirit and Faith is an initiative to strengthen the spiritual leadership of women in North America. The project is currently in a 'listening' phase - hosting exploratory conversations, harvesting wisdom from diverse women leaders and learning about existing networks. Leadership is being provided by Kathe Schaaf, Kay Lindahl, Kathleen Hurty and Reverend Guo Cheen.
Over the next two years, it is our commitment to create a series of conversations at events and gatherings where women can
· affirm their greatest personal power,
· deepen authentic relationships with women from other networks and spiritual perspectives
· explore as a conscious community this frontier of feminine spiritual leadership
· discover together the strength that comes from connecting women across many sectors so that faith and spiritual traditions become effective tools for peace, healing and harmony.
Two important gatherings are planned for the coming year. A retreat bringing together 25 diverse women spiritual leaders from Canada and the U.S. will be held November 14-17, 2010 at the Mary and Joseph Retreat Center in Palos Verdes, California. This exploration of the current pattern of women's spiritual leadership will serve as the foundation for a large and lively gathering of 300+ women in San Francisco April 28-May 1, 2011. Mark your calendar so that you can join us for inspiration, information, interaction and integration!
By the end of 2011, we intend to have strengthened the leadership of spiritual women in North America by building bridges of understanding as we seek to connect many diverse networks in a web of spiritual presence. We believe this will contribute to a more cohesive and effective community of spiritual women leaders who are animated, connected and bringing their spiritual leadership in service of humanity.
You are invited to join us for a series of Exploratory Conversations by conference calls over the next four months. Each conversation will explore a question about women, spirituality and leadership.

An Archive of Women's Spiritual Wisdom
A Remarkable Archive of Feminine Wisdom Available Online.
As a part of the Women of Faith and Spirit initiative, Jamie Walters has been interviewing women about the Sacred Feminine and womens' spiritual leadership. These remarkable dialogues, called SophiaLogues, are archived online.
Visit the SophiaLogues at www.ivysea.com/pages/sophialon_audios. html.
The SophiaLogues are a series of emerging audio dialogues produced by Jamie Walters, author and founder of Ivy Sea-Sophialon. The SophiaLogues grew out of a larger body of research into the Wisdom of the Feminine and the re-emerging Divine Feminine.
In a series of dialogues with women and men from varying paths and traditions, Jamie and the interviewees explore:
What is the Wisdom of the Feminine? What does 're-emerging Feminine' mean? What are the gifts, traits, and facets of the Feminine? How does the Wisdom of the Feminine foster conscious living, relationship, work & leadership?
Each dialogue is a treasure … and the good news is this is an on-going process, with more dialogues being added each week.

The Sacred Feminine at the Parliament
Honoring the Sacred Feminine at the Parliament of the World's Religions
Every five years The Parliament of the World's Religions brings together spiritual leaders from around the globe, created to cultivate harmony among the world's religious and spiritual communities and to foster a just, peaceful and sustainable world. The 2009 Parliament was convened in Melbourne, Australia, December 3-9th, 2009 and offered the perfect opportunity to raise awareness about the Sacred Feminine, to empower women as spiritual leaders and to weave connections in service of the greater good.
Women from Women's Spirit Council created an event to honor and celebrate the Sacred Feminine at the 2009 Parliament. 'A Creative Exploration of the Sacred Feminine' took place on Friday, December 4 at 4:30 pm in Melbourne. It was only one of many events and conversations exploring the Sacred Feminine and feminine spiritual leadership.
